A well-made fruit salad is simple, fresh, and packed with benefits. Ingredients (Serves 2–3):

  • 1 apple (chopped into cubes)
  • 1 banana (sliced)
  • 1 small mango (or any seasonal fruit, chopped)
  • ½ cup grapes (halved)
  • 1 tsp ghee or butter
  • 1 tbsp honey (or jaggery syrup)
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder (or cardamom powder for an Indian twist)
  • ½ tsp black salt
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, or peanuts)

Black salt offers a smoky, tangy flavour with subtle hints reminiscent of garlic and ginger, elevating the taste profile of dishes. Method:

Step 1:
Heat ghee or butter in a tawa or kadai on a low flame. This gentle start brings out richness without overpowering the fruit.
Step 2:
Add chopped apples, grapes, and mango. Roast for 2–3 minutes until the edges caramelise slightly. This light sear deepens the natural sweetness.
Step 3:
Add sliced bananas and toss gently for another minute. Bananas soften fast, so a quick turn keeps the texture intact.
Step 4:
Sprinkle cinnamon or cardamom powder and a pinch of Table Top Black Salt. Stir to coat evenly. This is where the warmth and balance come in.
Step 5:
Turn off the heat. Drizzle in honey or jaggery syrup and a dash of lemon juice. Remember, the acidity will lift the whole dish and make it even more mouthwatering!

Step 6:

Top with chopped nuts for crunch and serve warm.
This works perfectly as a snack, breakfast or light dessert.
